Power is complicated.
Accountability should be clear.

The Presidency, Examined is an independent, document-driven publication investigating where presidential authority intersects with money, business, foreign influence, favoritism, and private benefit.

We do not begin with a verdict. We begin with answerable questions: What happened? Who benefited? What public power was exercised? And what does the evidence actually permit us to conclude?

Follow the evidence.
Show the limits.

Our reporting process is designed to resist both partisan certainty and institutional spin.

01

Start with the record

Financial disclosures, court filings, government decisions, contracts, and original interviews come before narrative.

02

Separate fact from inference

Every investigation distinguishes what documents establish, what they leave unresolved, and what would change the assessment.

03

Test the strongest defense

Subjects receive specific questions and a meaningful opportunity to respond. Contrary evidence belongs in the story.

04

Correct the public record

Substantive corrections and updates will be dated, explained, and preserved rather than silently rewritten.
